Tickets purchased several weeks in advance cost significantly less. Ask for Advance Purchase Excursion fares while purchasing your tickets. Traveling within the United States will cost less with Visit USA tickets that are offered by major US airlines (US Airways, Delta, TWA, Northwest).
The majority of international flights is received by the following gateway cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Other airports may have direct air connection with selected countries. Reaching another destination will require taking additional flight. Passing immigration and customs might require up to two hours, so plan your time accordingly if you need to make any connections.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol during the flight, drinking plenty of water instead. Adapting to a new time zone might require some time. Try to go to sleep at the normal time for your destination as you arrive and wake up in the bright morning.
Compare the different fares while planning your trip as prices may vary significantly. Be sure to check your local airlines' fares as for some countries local companies offer lower rates.
