• Strangers do not talk to each other in Great Britain.
• People say "thank you" when they give money to a shop assistant.
• It is customary to take off gloves at the entry.
• It is considered impolite to talk to Englishmen about business affairs after the working day is over. This rule works during dinner with your business partner as well.
• Englishmen are in earnest about table manners. Here are some of them:
- Never put your hands on the table, keep them on your lap.
- Do not remove knives and forks from the plates as knife-rests are not used in England.
- Do not shift cover's items from one hand to another. A knife should be all the time in the right hand, a fork - in the left one.
• Do not make compliments like "What a beautiful dress you've got on" in public. It will be regarded as the greatest tactlessness.
• Do not address strangers at table if you were not introduced to them.
