Climate varies from area to area because of the vast territory this country occupies. Canadians enjoy four seasons which are rather different from each other. Daytime summer temperatures can rise to 35°C and higher, while lows of -25°C are not uncommon in winter. More moderate temperatures are the norm in spring and fall. Spring is generally mild and sunny around the country and autumn is able to please you with purple and yellow colors of trees and not very frequent rains. Winters are rather frosty with snow and wind, but there are places in Canada where you can enjoy moderately mild winter - they are situated on the west coast of the country. In case you do not like frosty wind and snow-go to Vancouver or Victoria. Remember that temperature is measured in centigrade degree.
The country is stretched into several time zones. Yukon and most of British Columbia are within Pacific Standard Time. Manitoba and Ontario west of Thunder Bay, as well as central Nunavut are within Central Standard Time. Most of Labrador, north-eastern Quebec and all of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia are within Atlantic Standard Time. The island of Newfoundland has its own time zone, Newfoundland Standard Time. The south-eastern corner of Labrador is also within this time zone, which is only a half-hour different than Atlantic Standard Time. Do not worry if you hardly understand what all these time zones mean. The trick here is to be ready to get used to new time no matter how different it is from yours. Anyway, just as you arrive to your area of destination, compare the time on your watch with the local time.
