If I prepared a resolution for myself, I would probably wish to develop an ability to understand and accept others, even very eccentric and extraordinary people. I realize it is impossible to make everyone develop a good attitude towards you, but I would like to become more helpful and understanding person.
There are two sides of my desire. First of all, I would like to be more tolerant to others' self-expression, because due to my cultural upbringing, I consider myself a little snobbish. Nevertheless, I don't want to keep out of extraordinary and strange people, especially if those are my relatives and friends - I just need to accept them as they are, and this is, probably, the most challenging aspect of my resolution. For instance, I can't bear laziness and bad self-organization, but there are many people around me, who prefer reading an interesting book or daydreaming to visiting classes, and understanding those who have weaker willpower and 'knowledge thirst' is really complicated.
On the other hand, I need to understand people's motivations and intentions, i.e. reasons for their actions in order to determine whether the person is a friend for me or simply is coming across my life. I'm studying psychology and similar sciences, yet I am still weak in discovering others' needs and explaining their behavior and applying psychological concepts in different aspects of daily life.
My final resolution is I need to become a more penetrating and insightful person in order to distinguish clearly between my friends, neutral persons and rivals.
